Beautification efforts paying off [pics]
November 18, 2008 | Paul HillsdonI’m a big fan of the beautification efforts currently underway at City Hall. Brand means a lot these days and being able to develop and maintain a vibrant image of Surrey is extremely important. Beautification is a relatively cheap thing to do that can make a huge amount of difference on the ground, every day – and that’s why I love what is going on. Big props go out to our Beautification Coordinator, Renatee Gepraegs!
The City has a full list of what they are undertaking, but here’s a quick synopsis.
- Decorative lighting
- Banners
- Graffiti prevention through vinyl wraps and murals
- New Gateway signage
- Median redevelopment
- Bus shelter, street poles, benches, fencing improvements
- New planters

Another wrap. In Whalley near Surrey Central. Certainly looks better than a plain graffiti covered hydro box!
