Quattro pivots from mid-rises to towers

After the successful completion of three mid-rise buildings in the north-east corner of downtown, Tien Sher, the developers behind Quattro, are taking the project to new heights. The company is seeking preliminary approval for four new towers between Whalley Boulevard and King George on what is currently the site of the old Flamingo Hotel.

The site will be divided into two phases with a new north-south road in between. Phase 1, on the east, will include two towers – one at 28 storeys, the other 30 – along with 3-storey ground-oriented townhomes. Phase 2 will consist of a 35 storey and 41 storey landmark tower, 3 storey ground-oriented townhomes and a commercial anchor at King George and 107A Ave.

what’s with the unnecessary setback on KGB showing on parcels 2 & 3 – especially for the future building in parcel 3? is surface parking actually the preferred use for the corner of KGB & 108?

where’s the retail street wall? the quality of the urban design at this important intersection should top notch. still a far cry from vancouver…

As far as I’m aware, parcels 2 & 3 are not owned by Tien Sher. These are just placeholder mockups for that land.

  3. Might like to add the fact these are just first proposal. The council will look at and tell them what they would like to see changed.

Although If my memory service me correctly I believe the city is hoping to have a small little plaza area around the corner of 108 ave and KGB.

Surrey is hoping to add a lot of mini parks and plaza areas around the city. It is to allow for smaller gathering in places around the whole city centre instead of having just one.
