Kensington Prairie Community Centre [pic]

Kensington Prairie Community Centre is a retrofit of a historic elementary school in South Surrey. The facility is meant to provide a cheap, short term civic facility for the growing area of Grandview and Morgan Heights. The historic building was built in 1914 and was preserved as a civic facility thanks to several years of lobbying by the local community. The upgraded facility is set to provide multi-purpose community meeting space, general leisure and arts activities, as well as early childhood learning programming. It is planned to open in June at a cost of $1.4 million.
