The Surrey DECC continues to move forward, with phase 1 construction well underway. The $40 million LEED Gold project will consist of a four-storey, 125,000 sq. ft. building that will house administration, district education programs, and meeting spaces. Phase 2 will consist of the conference centre and is expected to be paid for by revenues of the existing property at 142 St and 56 Ave near City Hall. Phase 1 is planned to open sometime in 2011.
