
Infinity Phase 2, as seen from Surrey Central
- Infinity Phase 2, currently on hold due to the financial collapse of the Lehman Brothers, is being rescued by none other than Concord Pacific. That development corporation, well known for its towers along the former Expo lands on False Creek, plans to immediately complete the two Infinity towers, sitting half finished next to King George SkyTrain Station.
- Former British PM Tony Blair will be the keynote speaker for the second Surrey Regional Economic Summit. This main speaker this year was former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
- The Semiahmoo Town Centre Tower proposal by Bosa has been scrapped. They will only do some upgrades to the mall.
- Quattro Phase 1, slightly damaged by the fire in October, will be complete by the end of March. Phase 2, which was completely destroyed by the blaze, still doesn’t have a timeline determined for reconstruction.
- TransLink is starting two new bus routes on December 29th that will run right through the heart of Surrey. The 364 will connect Langley Centre with Scottsdale via 64th Ave, with service every 30 minutes. The 388 is a limited stop service connecting Walnut Grove and Port Kells to Annacis Island and 22nd Street via 88th Ave, operating only during peak hours.
