Took a bunch of pics the other day during a photowalk. Here’s a bunch of the Main St. retrofit almost complete in Downtown Cloverdale. I personally think it looks absolutely fantastic!

New tree pockets with plantings, public art statue, new sidewalk pavings, new street lighting poles, new community banners

New street poles. This is where hanging baskets will go soon.

New street poles with street and pedestrian lighting, space for banners, and special "Cloverdale" insignia

New public art

Historical plaques are incorporated into the public art

The new street poles add a heightened sense of character and place to the street

The new sidewalk pavement

The Clova Theatre!

Another site, waiting for public art to come shortly

Hawthorne Square, with the old street poles, leading to a defunct Cloverdale Mall

The historic Dale building

Another tree pocket with new sidewalk paving

A fantastic Japanese restaurant

The newest building along the strip - a pub!

Very nice photo post of the improvements in Cloverdale. Had to laugh at your comment on the ‘defunct’ Cloverdale mall as my husband actually works in one of the few businesses that call that mall home. Wouldn’t it be great if/when that mall finally gets a face-lift?!
Hey, this is pretty cool. All that’s missing now is PEOPLE. I still dislike the architecture… it’s very drab, although there are some key pieces like the museum that are very nice. Should look great when it’s done, especially in summertime. Then I MUST visit.
I was horrified to find out the trees on most of downtown Granville St have been cut down in preparation for the street’s expensive makeover. Why do the trees always go first? Sigh. They were gorgeous.
