Infinity is on hold indefinitely with Phase 2 half built. Construction will resume once (if?) the developers get new financial backers. Rumour has it Concord Pacific is interested.
Young In has put on hold their Sky Towers project.
Phase 2 of Quattro will be rebuilt as soon as possible.
D’Corize is almost complete, with only a few more storeys near the top needing glass windows. From there, interiors will need to be finished.
CityPoint‘s underground parking is complete, and tower construction is beginning.
Evo Phase 1 is almost done, and Phase 2 is being actively marketed right now.
The Gateway Urban Office Park has been rezoned.
Newgen Properties, along with the Surrey City Development Corporation, are set to build another four storey condo at 105 Ave and West Whalley Ring Road. Could this be D’Corous?
And, Bed, Bath, and Beyond will be opening in early 2009 at Central City!

Exciting times. I don’t want the developers to raze and develop the large semi-forested area directly across (east) from the Sky Towers that had so far been spared from development. The big Sky banner on the fence around it scared me. When those towers have been occupied, the SkyTrain is going to be crazy busier, so I sure hope the new trains will have been added by then. I’d rather see more 4-6 storey development than these big towers but at least it’s not low density housing.
There was some talk at work (DSF) about East Clayton and the attempts to make it a green community. From what I could see from Fraser Hwy it looked pretty sprawly but apparently they thought about pedestrian use… except you can’t really get anywhere except by car… sooo… yeah. That was the first I’d heard of that development though.
Paul,
I would like to say that I am always checking your blog for tidbits on the Surrey Central area. I have invested in the Infinity Towers and would not have done so without the information you provided about this exciting area. It has been a great investment so far.
Your work ethic will pay huge dividends for you and the people around you. Good luck with your political career. I’m sure you’ll do great things for Surrey in the future.
Trevor
The city needs to do something to calm traffic down along king george blv, its just too busy too noisy, mayor watts should look into this matter. Trucks and buses should use other routes.
