The Surrey Board of Education is welcoming public submissions for names of three new elementary schools:
- Clayton Centre Area: 19077 – 70 Avenue (Site #203)
Scheduled to open in 2009 - North West Cloverdale Area: 18228 – 68 Avenue (Site #153)
Scheduled to open September 2010 - South West Newton Area: 6068 – 142 Street (Site #212)
Scheduled to open September 2010
According to school board policy, schools are usually named in reference to historical or geographical characteristics. Special consideration is given to names that have significant meaning to students and members of the community. An effort should be made to avoid confusion that may be caused by having schools with similar names.
Submissions are due by May 12th. More info can be found at the district’s website.
